Famoso dates and prices!

Postby Tetge » Thu Jan 09, 2014 12:18 am

I checked the Famoso site and it appears that they are going to have some T&T as early as January, but these T&T opportunities are connected to race activities, even though they are open. The least expensive open T&T appears to be Sat., Feb 15, for $60. The only good thing about $60 for 02/15/14, is that one doesn't have to pay in advance so the weather can be checked before committing. These prices, combined with the other costs of driving to Famoso and back, gives me renewed appreciation for the $20 total that it costs me to run at Willow. Maybe I should just make the mods that I have scientifically ascertained would set my car up for WIllow, and only run WIllow?

FROM FAMOSO"S SITE:

January 24-26 - Bracket Bash -

Entry:
$300 Both BB and (S/SS or MX)
$240 Bracket Bash
$120 S/SS / Motorcycle
$240 Test and Tune <<<<<-------------------------------------!!!!!!!!!!!
Spectator $25 Weekend Pass

Friday test and tune gates open at 9am racing 11:00 - 5 <<<<------------------------------------- This is apparently what you get for $240?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 15 - Open Test & Tune Gates 8am - Track 10am - 5pm

$60 Car & Driver <<<<<<-------------------------------------$60 Not as bad unless all the imports screw up the track practicing for the next day
$20 Crew/Spectator

Feb 16 - Import Face-Off

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Feb 28 - March 2 - Open Test & Tune
$150 Car & Driver - Weekend <--------------------------------------- $150
$40 Crew/Spectator - Weekend
Gates 8am - Track 10am - 5pm
Free Camping with Admission
Racers will be able to leave rigs until the March Meet. Will have to move rigs/trailers to the South Side of property after Tn

I agree that Feb 15 would be the best shot, and $60 is not unreasonable for such an event. They will start Friday T&T's later in the year, and they are less expensive, but they are never as good as a weekend T&T. Of course, it is going to rain on 02/15/14. :angry-devil:

My Snell 2005 is good until 01/01/17. But no earlier Snell 2000, and earlier versions, are acceptable anymore. I always check on stuff if I am going to Famoso, since I know that Famoso's tech is pretty strict. on the other hand, it appears that at the Willow drags, if it looks like a helmet, it suffices.

Is this based on a long term weather forcast, historical data, or are you just being sarcastic? Hard to tell sometimes, even for me, a self proclaimed Master in "Tetgespeak".

Damn, I'm going to be out there like two weeks before this.

 Hate it. That is why I am scheduled to be in SoCal the last week of January, or the first week of Feb.

Yup. One Deposition for me, another a high profile, potentially lengthy big deal trial related to my previous assignments specialty type of work. Despite my previous employer giving me nothing but grief, in terms of refusing benefits and common courtesies given to those who retire under honorable conditions. Typically it is an industry wide standard they follow. With me, They are just dicking me around, refusing me certain things, due it having become a personal conflict with the new boss.

Anywhooo. It would be great if I could get all my chess pieces to fit on the board so that I could have it all play out for a nice visit in between all the bullshit.
