LA Shelby Club - GT350 First Victory Celebration at Willow S

Post by jhwalker »

Hi Shelby Fans,

Coming up on February 14th and 15th at Willow Springs Raceway -- an event, not to be missed... A Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the GT350's First Victory:

CAR SHOW: The 50th Anniversary Celebration of the GT350 will include a special Ford Powered Car Show on Saturday, February 14, 2015. Featuring some of the most significant Mustangs, Cobras and special interest vehicles on the West Coast with trophies awarded to all classes as well as a Best of Show Award. Selection will be by popular vote by show entrants with the awards ceremony at 2:00 p.m.

EVENT BANQUET: Saturday night’s dinner banquet will include a special program celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the GT350. Some of the “Original Venice Crew”, Shelby mechanic Jim Marietta, master mechanic Ted Sutton and design and styling iconic Peter Brock will discuss their Project 1965 Mustang built with the modifications they desired to complete 50 years ago. One of many modifications on their project Mustang is the installation of the original Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) which was tested at Shelby American on a GT350 50 years ago.

OPEN TRACK: What would a GT350 celebration be without some track time? Here is an opportunity to enjoy your Ford Performance Vehicle at speed in a safe environment on historic Willow Springs International Raceway; the very racetrack where extensive testing was performed on the iconic GT350’s 50 years ago.
