Not a Ram! It is a Rampage

Post by xbacksideslider »

1983 Dodge Rampage with 16V 2.2 engine out of a Chrysler TC by Maserati.

Finally putting a bigger exhaust manifold and turbo on it, not huge though, just a 45 AR exhaust and 60 Trim compressor.

The other part is the A/W intercooler on top of the transaxle for short fat pipes and a wide short core.

Better shot of the turbo and downpipe sitting on the new log manifold.

Chrysler and Maserati make strange bed fellows. Cool looking setup.

So, the Valve Cover serves as a Water Jacket of some type, or is it part of the Intercooler Tank or what? I see a Radiator cap on top and a plumbing fitting coming out the side.

Now that you mention it, from that back of the engine point of view, the VC & its dumb cap does look like a water tank!?!??!?

On the other hand, I should know better than to expect productive comments from a high desert Mustang guy :naughty:

Well, that would make A LOT more sense. I couldn't read it on my monitor. So, that massive copper fitting on the side then is just some massive PCV tube?

Glad I wasn't driving it. I would have filled it up with water!

It looks Copper. The pic with the engine in the bed, just above the exhaust turn down, above what appears to be a EGR Sensor or hole for an A/F Ratio Sensor, in the vertical face of the Valve Cover. Big, fat straight tube coming out.
