Norton fiends

Post by jhwalker » Thu Feb 15, 2018 12:10 pm

The man who rode the Ducati over to the Queretaro Ducati shop and back is a Norton fiend. He has three in his garage, in various states of repair. He is one of the motorcycle group down here -- the self-appointed leader of the pack, a good guy. He wrote for years for a Norton rag.
His article below, with a pic of Art and two chicas starts on page 10 and is 5 pages long. Art still looks the same, 8 years later. His resemblance to a certain person we all know is a little frightening, but Art is a nice guy.

Enjoyed that. Thanks James.
Jay's friend, and mine as well, Frank Forster also contributed an article on Commando exhausts.

Great video of the insane Texans preparing for a crazy time. I rode my 1952 Velocette MAC (hard tail, 17 horsepower) from Ojai to Ashland Or, then participated in a 1000 mile rally to spots in the area, including Crater lake and Happy Camp, and I will tell you this. You learn about long distance riding on old stuff real fast, the hard way, on the side of the road covered with oil. You also learn, as team Norton hinted at, how you could better prepare for a ride of that scope.

Tim.

 I'd like to do a couple more 'silly' rides. Terri and I planned a 4000+ mile ride in the SPF (no comparison to a lond bike ride) and then I had a couple of issues and she said 'NO WAY!'. Maybe next ear :liar:

Try it on a rigid, it will make the Norton feel like a cloud, or as they say, a feather bed.
