https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zen_and_t ... aintenance
People have told me "It will change my life". At the time I didn't want to change my life.

I always felt deficient in some way because I couldn't get seriously into it. It is in my bookshelf in my 'unread' section. Maybe, just maybe, i'll give it a commemorative try.  RIP dude

IIRC, I tried to read his book, found out it wasn't about MCs, and set it down.
I guess it's a great example, in the history of publishing, of a title that sold a lot of copies.

Downloaded from Amazon, started reading, fell asleep.
I'll try again tomorrow after chores are finished -- too much going on today.

While I still feel the need to finish books I start, I find that I do set them aside, not really admitting to myself that I have no intention of returning to them. I also am more willing to skip chapters to find the good parts but then I'm reading non-fiction.

For sure...

I'm 1/3 through the book and best quote was at 31% - remember the book name -- 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance"
" I suppose that if I were a novelist rather than a Chautauqua orator I'd try to "develop the characters" of John and Silvia and Chris with action-packed scenes that would also reveal
"inner meanings" of Zen and maybe Art and maybe even Motorcycle Maintenance. That would be quite a novel, but for some reason don't feel quite up to it."

I will grind on.

Am now at 49+% grind, grind...
I'm giving it the slow read, challenging everything. Since the entire book is challenging, challenging squared. (do we have a smilie for shooting oneself in the head? )
Terri walks by and laughs at my expression while I am reading and says something annoying just to jack me up a little. :violin:
