Bike looks great Jay. While I'm not nuts about the looks of my rack, I would never go back to not having it. Hope you guys are getting in some riding out your way, been wet as hell here again this year.

Re: The DRZ's 5 Year, 10k Mile Beauty Makeover
Hey guys, thanks for the positive comments!
Of course, after my new commitment to try and get out and be more active (Doctors Orders) I went to tinker and perhaps even ride my new beauty of a bike, only to find that the plastic tank did a helluva job bubbling the new graphics up in short order! Crazy thing, is that it somehow even trapped vapors in between the layers of the high quality (read:Expensive) graphics sections and now sports big blisters. I tried to smash them flat and push them out, as I had with the other graphics in the past, but these new ones are so sealed, with a layer of clear over everything else, that it traps the gasses and you can't even mash them flat. The bubbles just float around. Arghhhh. I guess I may have to go all Army foot blister style on it and start popping them with little pin holes everywhere to let the vapors out.
I knew this going in, with the plastic tank, and got the "metal" unperforated tank graphics kit, as the others look horrible, IMHO but I never thought it would be this bad.
Crud. Oh well.
Oh, and the bike now won't run off choke, and has a huge stumble down low, off idle. So time to dig into the carb and clean all that bad gas out, though it ran just fine recently and the fuel smells ok in the tank. Ughh.

I've got a bunch of new stuff to post and catch up on, but have been on the road, and now am lazy and not sure anyone even cares to hear it, or if it were wiser I just kept my mouth shut.

We want to hear it. NoBrakelate wrote:I've got a bunch of new stuff to post and catch up on, but have been on the road, and now am lazy and not sure anyone even cares to hear it, or if it were wiser I just kept my mouth shut.
I have stuff to post too, but I am pretty sure no one wants to hear it...

I can't believe you're getting reluctant to post in your old age. We want to hear about your adventures. Or do I have to drive to the back of beyond to hear them in person?Brakelate wrote:I've got a bunch of new stuff to post and catch up on, but have been on the road, and now am lazy and not sure anyone even cares to hear it, or if it were wiser I just kept my mouth shut.

Well, some of it is not so good news.
But, OK. I'll throw some stuff together to post up.
