Did you let a dealer flash the car while the tune was removed, or, did you flash the tuner to a new firmware? Otherwise, why wouldn't it put the tune back in? But, you should be able to call Greg and straighten it out since he should stand behind his tunes.

Neither. I flashed it to stock and it's been with the stock tune for a few months.

I might just try to run it by RET when I get a chance.

Have you looked to see what tune it says is in it? It should work if it is not locked to the car. There are FAQs about such stuff on the xcal site.

Here's the thing. I went to upload the RET tune a few weeks ago, and the SCT screen froze up on the __% complete status when uploading the custom tune. I let it sit for a few minutes, no change and the fans kept running. Finally I turned the key off and unplugged the XCal when I gave it close to 5 minutes and nothing changed.

The dyno tune COULD have finished installing, which is why it doesn't want to install it again without changes made. Or I could try to flash to stock first and try the custom tune again.

Or maybe just run it to RET. I hate making that trip without getting some POWER but I need to get it resolved.

You may have "married" the XCal to the car and now it is locked because you had to interrupt the uploading. But, I thought that you could plug it in and without loading a tune use the diagnostics to see the status of the tunes, etc. Again, there are FAQ's about this. What happened to you is my real fear each time I have had to flash the ECU using any tool, and the same goes for flashing firmware and BIOS on computers. My Predator got weird when I was putting the stock tune back to trade the Cobra in and I got lucky and I was able to fix it with the telephone aid of tech at Diablo Sport. Even then, I had to insist on trying everything that I had read about on the NET when I researched, as they wanted to get off the phone, since they said I was doomed. If I had not done a lot of research, I would have accepted their initial statement that I had to take the car to Ford to get the ECU straighteded out, but, on a Corvette forum, of all places, person had the exact same issue and recounted the fix. So, I insisted and Diablo gave me some code to enter into the Predator when it was attached to the car, and, even though they said that it would not work, it did. The tech acted as if he was really surprised and I was super relieved when the car started right up. I was really worried, since the Cobra would not even run the way it sat. Funny think is that Dave and John used sit to sit in the pits at LACR tweaking their Predator tunes over and over again, and there was never a single bad incident. So, in your case calling SCT for tech assistance, if you can't get Greg on the phone, might also be an option. And, you should research the hell out of the issue as well, since it is likely that others had encountered it.

My tuner said 'call SCT'.

I would rather have taken it to the tuner shop and paid to have someone handle it faster. :|
