Switched to the K&N intake. CARB # is a plus, and it's a cleaner looking setup than what I had.

There's about 1" room in front for a longer filter, eventually I'll swap to a slightly longer open end.

3.25" upper pulley is on, that will be my baseline for tuning. My new belt wasn't long enough, so grabbed a 77" Gates HD. Should be ready to fire it up this weekend if all goes well.

So . . . . the Whipple pumps more air and puts it out at a lower temperature than the OEM blower?
And then, you improved the coolant flow too.

New belt is on, email tune is in and the car is running.

I went to reinstall my Bassani Xpipe and realized the shop that touched it last left me without a proper flange for the flared end. They must have used one when they built me a hacked together stock Hpipe for smog purposes. So it's got a fat bottleneck in the exhaust and my dyno tune was set for 9am tomorrow. :violin:

Ran to Autozone with the one pipe and flange that I do have. "I need an exhaust flange like this".

"Year make and model?"

Sigh. I'll just grab one from a muffler shop in the morning and bolt it on. I just have to reschedule my tune for another day. :hand:

Everyone that modifies their car in any significant way can relate to you on this one. I've run into that with buying belts for my car.

"I need an 78", 6-rib belt."

"What year is the vehicle?"

"It's not a standard belt size for my car. I just need this size belt"

I feel very fortunate when one of the people working there knows how to look up a belt by size.

A buddy and me walked into Pep Boys 2 weeks ago looking for a belt. He asked the kid at the counter "What brands of belts do you carry?". All we got was uuuuuggghh, and he walks to the back wall.

Checked out the muffler shop where I had my 'custom' H-pipe built this morning, they didn't have anything. Luckily Bassani is on my way home in Anaheim, I'll pick up the flange this afternoon. Have to reschedule my dyno tune appointment though. Hoping for sometime next week.

Reinstalled my Bassani midpipe today. It is 5 pieces using slip fit pipes and clamps. I have a few small leaks that I can't seem to get rid of. Because of the headers, I'm stuck with this pipe or my modified stocker.

I have been tempted before to either go to a full long tube, or a JBA shorty header with factory style midpipe. This Bassani setup is a pain as is for smog time. I imagine longtubes wouldn't make things any easier.

So, what'd she put down? Sounded awesome. The Whipple sounds so much more like the Eaton than the KB does. I like it better because of its ominous sound, reminiscent of an air raid siren. :-D

Wow. Sounded great! Great! And I have resolved to NOT Whipple my SPF Cobra. Well, that is why we have erasers on our resolve pencils, eh? Post that dyno sheet... por favor.
