Re: DSG Terminator
That is a cool looking antique and it is nice to see that some collectors still take them out for rides now and then. Of course, they are not in the same league as a modern Mustang.

Re: DSG Terminator
Nice ride...I still miss my 2004 Redfire Terminator.
I traded it in for a new 2010 GT500, and that car was wonderful but I just didn't have the attachment to it like I did with the 2004.

Re: DSG Terminator
I have had the pleasure of driving a very nice modded GT500 at Willow, and it IS a very nice, competent car. But, there is some strange thing about a "Terminator" that has never before been in a Mustang, and may never be again. Just the performance, feel, sound and compilation of somewhat raw mechanical soul that it has. Clearly, the new platforms are vastly improved. But, for a DRIVER's car.... nothing comes close.

I agree.
I loved my 2004 Term. I had such a killer exhaust on that thing it made my Viper sound like a Sopwith Camel (I had both cars at the same time, which was kind of cool)
Should have never traded that Redfire Cobra in....
The GT500 was a very solid car. The chassis was worlds apart better than the SN95 unit. But, the GT500 just didn't have the character or soul that the 2004 Cobra had. After reading Iron Fist, Lead Foot there really was something special about those 03/04 cars.
More info on that great book here: http://www.ironfistleadfoot.com/ironfistleadfoot.html Anybody with a Terminator should own this book.

I've heard the book mentioned over the years, but never picked up a copy.

Still have mine. It is a pain in the ass to drive compared to the new ones, and seems to squeak and rattle like an airport shuttle at times, but it handles like crazy now and still loves to run. Hard to think of parting with it.
P.S. I need to get back to the track ASAP

Re: DSG Terminator
I have fresh tires and new pads to go on. But, I would worry about the current clutch set up. Otherwise, I would drive it out, do a track day and drive it back to Utah as-is.
Just that tinkering in the garage, even on the silly stuff sucks so bad.

Re: DSG Terminator
Guess I could see what it would run to rent or mooch a local car trailer. Then trailer it out and sleep in the truck with no worries, should it start slipping or something else unexpected happening.
