We are getting good rain. Our rain capture cisterna is 90%full  and we have good rain on the way from tropical storm Earl I guess.
This is when it this place is at its prettiest. And I have no big project going on. We still need to move more rocks around with a frontloader/backhoe, but things are too wet for a machine to get sufficient traction to move a big rock.

jhwalker wrote:I moved here in June 2010 I think. Moved into the casita. Lived there until casa was built. After 6 years we are freshening up the casita. Inside and out. floors and roof . The workers have used it as a hangout for 4 years, and Terri wants it to be "bright and cheery". We may get too many visitors and overflow the casa this year at Day of the Dead time, so we can have folks bunk there too. Something to do. There is ALWAYS stuff to do. So we will paint the inside fully, the outside fully, strip and re-seal the tile floors, reseal the tile roof, repaint the ironwork. Terri will be happy 8-)
The rain has slowed this project -- but the inside looks good , the tile floor refinished, the inside walls re-painted and the outside is primered.
I say 1 more month -- maybe 2 months if the rain keeps falling.

Last night, standing at her food bowl Canela just keeled over. Splat. Today she ate lieing down, getting her mouth into the bowl, then politely went out to the yard to poop. Traversing up and down the stairs. I will be surprised if she makes it thru the weekend. she has had a great life out here in the country and has been a great dog.
I will report in.

RIP Canela. I guess i should not have accused her of faking it. What was amazing to me was how fast the 'help her out of her pain' went. In about a moment, she looked like Canela from a week ago, no 'can't you do anything?' look like the past week. I told Terri to not get ideas -- I don't want to wake up and see Dr. Alma (the vet) standing over me saying ' this will not hurt'. :naughty:

Sorry to hear, James. I'm glad you had her while you did, and I'm sure she did too.
