After knowing for a couple of years what we want to do with our back yard, we pulled the trigger 2 weeks ago. The goal is to have this project competed by 12/15. All serious work ceases here on 12/16 until after 1/1.

The project is going to cover about 4800 sq feet. 60x80. Because of the slope of the land, we are cutting 3 terraces, putting in a modest pool, a little logia, just a bit of stuff. This is the end. No more. Well, maybe a little shrine up on the hill where sins can be confessed and forgiven. 8-)

A little rock wall will surround the 4800 sq feet. I have attached two items that show what is happening. The back yard is destroyed right now...

Cool stuff, wish I could understand it better; hard to see detail.

Soon it will take form. 14 workers in the yard right now. Shooting for completion by 12/15.

Feels a bit like insanity this minute...

I didn't count 14 workers, but, those that I saw looked like the same dudes that hang around the parking lot of the Home Depot, other than the back hoe with the rusted roof. I guess that day laborers are still relatively inexpensive in Mexico to have 14 working on the project. But, if this is the final project, what will you do to enhance the local economy and keep occupied after it is done?

That was tight focus. Since the project is fixed-price, I don't worry about how many are working, but today the count was 14. I would be going crazy if it were a "hourly" project. But it is not my problem. Thank goodness.

The process here is nuts, but the end product so far has been beautiful.

Is there a stoppage due to rain from Hurricane Patricia? Rainfall amounts? We are curious because it doesn't rain here

Typically, storms from the coast don't make it here (during my 5 years at least). Just as a precaution, I am cancelling my dawn tee off. I heard a little wind during the night, we have cloud cover. We get massive rains here, but they seem to just spring up from ??? dump like mofos and head off to ??? With the workers, we use Sat and Sunday at quiet days. So we will see if there is any effect on Monday which right now is predicted to be 80% chance of rain.

Here are a couple of pics from yesterday or today. They show the weather, and the project. 7 weeks to go (knock on wood). The builder said that as soon as the backhoe is gone, he will fill the area with workers doing the details. :|
