My electric bills are steep all year, and, in the hot summer, huge. But, in the harsh climate extremes of the desert, one learns to expect high heating and cooling costs along with the high costs of everything else in California. I expect that it costs so much to live in California due to supply and demand, as people still want to live here in spite of the high costs.

What's the current payback period for solar in socal? My electric was 5-6000 pesos every two months, now 51 pesos (the minimum connect charge) after the solar. I'd suspect that SoCal found a way to screw it up...

They are pushing solar everywhere, but, I have no idea of the payback, as, at my age, amortization of anything is a joke. Also, they keep making advances, and, economies of scale suggest that solar will get less expensive to deploy, although effective battery backup, which really completes a good solar system, is still quite expensive.

my batteries look like truck batteries (all 8) and hold us overnight if we lose solar and city power. They were less than $50 each. I almost went for a generator too, just for the fun of it, but calmed down.

Perhaps such batteries are not to code in the good old USA, as batteries are $10000, and up.

Stangmode on youtube who has worked tirelessly in an attempt to become a youtube millionaire, has progressed to the point that Ford invited him to Las Vegas to test drive the GT500 at the speedway. Strangmode could have done well creating never ending serials back in the hay day of black and white pictures in theaters everywhere, as he drags all his videos out, sometimes with no useful content, and they have constant advertising, but, he ultimately will have some in car GT500 content to watch. Today he merely walked around a couple of GT500's and revved the engines some and that took a long time, although I never watch entire videos. But, he alleges that they will get to circulate on the road racing course soon, and also, he says that Ford will permit some drag racing. So, in the next week, or so, there might be some videos of the Ford, Las Vegas, intro event, on the NET.

I was also impressed by the number of GT500's that Ford brought to the track, as this would be no inexpensive matter. So, it appears that they are really working on the halo image that the GT500 may present. But, I still have to wonder how they expect to sell many $100,000 Mustangs, 760HP, or not, as the GT500 still looks like a mere Mustang?

mmm huh. Terri says our next car in the USA will be a Subaru. She now controls the purse strings (although the $$ are mine. I'm thinking about a Mustang, but not a $100,000 'Stang. We have agreed that I am not safe around cars to purchase...

If you do a nationwide search on Carsdotcom, there are a couple GT500s to be had at the $77k MSRP. A few others in the low $80k. Here in So Cal, they seem to be asking $110k+. A very annoying kid on YT took delivery of the first GT500, allegedly. He has another on order that is more to his liking, but he wanted to have the first, so he called hundreds of dealers across the country until he could find the earliest released. He almost immediately took it to a drag strip in Texas, and ran a 10.6x @ 130+ mph. I can't stand the kid, but he likes Mustangs, and has amassed a nice collection, including a GT350R, and an older-gen GT500 Super Snake.

Just search Speed Phenom on YT. You'll find his page right away, and he has lots of videos. YT is his main source of income, I think, so he puts out weekly content.
