2017 LA Auto Show

Post by SonicVenum »

We went to opening day with some family last Friday. It was nice to go when it wasn't so packed. Took a browse around pretty much everything. I didn't take too many pics, though there a few cars I probably should have. One is the 2018 GT350R. They had an Avalanche Grey model (that color has really grown on me). I'm glad I sat in it because it made me realize the Recaro seats are most definitely NOT for me. My ass is just plain too wide for those seats, and I don't think a diet would be enough to make a difference. I also sat in a 2018 Mustang GT Premium. That, I was comfortable in. So, when the time comes, it'll either be a GT350 with standard leather seats, or GT Performance Pack Level 2.

Another vehicle I should've snapped a few pics of is the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. That is one comfy beast. Mopar has decided to give you the option of about 4-5 engines on pretty much every full sized vehicle. The Trackhawk is a well-optioned Grand Cherokee with 707HP supercharged 6.2L Hemi engine in it. Bananas, and I want one. Rach immediately loved it when we sat in it because it was "so comfy!" I loved the Demon level engine output with a little button on the center console with "LAUNCH" written over an icon of a staging tree.

I'll attach a few of the pics I took, including the few Ford GTs on hand.

A few more, including Mercedes AMG's F1-inspired hypercar.

Supposedly they were supposed to debut the new Bullitt at the show, but it got pushed back about a month. I just saw a spy photo of it the other day.

My buddy was at the show early last week for the media days and sent me some cool pictures. I’m planning to go this Sunday. I would do awful things for a new or even an old Ford GT....

Ooh, looks nice. Definitely looks Bullittesque with the green paint, dark Bullitt wheels, and spoiler delete.

You and me both on the GT. I wish Jay Leno was my dad. He has GT #12 (first to be released to anyone outside the Ford inner circle, and matches the SN for his '05 GT), and having #13 just seems right. I'm sure ol' pops could afford another half mil.

Good stuff guys. We are so disconnected from the cool stuff now, and I miss it. We worry about handling the big-ass speed bumps, the big ruts -- dealing with bad gasoline, etc. I can't afford any of this stuff anyway. I should have worked harder/smarter dammit
