I picked up the cheapest one I could find 5 years ago and played with it, but never found myself really interested. Maybe because I was not doing anything worth filming. I just posted the video of the KTM that I shot with my GoProHero4 Silver. It is the nicest GoPro yet because it has a view screen back, but, I am a GoPro sucker since I sort of always get new ones. I did skip the Hero3, but I had two of the previous HD ones as one broke and they can't be repaired. It is nice to have a video camera but all the people with smart phones, especially the latest and greatest with big memory cards, seem to be able to shoot darned good video with their phones. But, the GoPro has mounts that make it work on my helmet and in my cage. And, it even has editing software now that works with Windows.
I know a pro photographer that finally had to get a Hero4 because, other than the cheap lens, the camera has a lot of capabilities for a pro using Pro Tune. I don't understand cameras, so I keep it simple and I still use 1080p, 30fps, although the camera will do better. I just have to decide which of the widths that I can choose from in 1080p I want to use.
But, I will use the camera sooner or later to document a good ride on the new KTM and I will take it to Willow Springs to document my victory some old, legacy, SVT Cobra. So, it has its uses.
