If Diablito or Jerome want to really step it up and go for a record setting pass, I can loan out my killer huge Hoosier DR's. They are 335's !!!
They stuck so hard on Willow's surface that I actually bogged, then smoked my clutch! With a fresh clutch, gear, or killer HP that you boys are packing (or all the above) you guys could really lay down some times on those steam rollers, by just getting out of the hole quicker. Problem is, they are friggin HUGE! (wide)
Not sure if they would fit on your cars, as they just do squeeze on mine with a hair to spare. But, next time I'm out in the car, I may roll on them down from Utah. Then we could swap for a few passes when the DA got good later in the night and later in the year to see what you Pro's can do.
Diablito Hookin up right from the launch with no tricks would be something to see!

I disagree. I believe your Cobra would have said there is no way this naturally aspirated, bolt-on Mach is going to beat me. It would spark the competitive flame inherent in all Cobras and their owners. Then you would smack down a 10.20 to end the night. After seeing how well your Mach runs Jerome, perhaps it is best that I wasn't there! You guys were smoking! I'm lucky if I run 10.5's and I believe my best trap speed ever was 109 if I am not mistaken.
Yes Pat, maybe. As you said, perhaps I would cruise up there with the skinnies and on a cool night to see if I could better my times.
Thank you for the offer Jay. Certainly more hook will drop my ET. However, the stubborness in me (Pat knows him) wants to drop my ET at Willow with improveing my driving, not throwing more rubber at it. As for Carlos' set up, I do not think much more skill can be had to keep that thing tamed. He needs the rubber. His 115mph proves that.If Diablito or Jerome want to really step it up and go for a record setting pass, I can loan out my killer huge Hoosier DR's. They are 335's !!!

Carlos was running giant MT DR's out back. So, he stepped up his grip awhile ago both for Willow, and for those rolling mile things that he loves. However, when you can make 700 wheel HP on race gas, a lowered Mustang with suspension that favors road racing can only get so much grip. Both Carlos and Jerome were pouring cans of Torco (?) into their gas tanks to quell detonation, even at the high DA of Willow. Although tires make a tremendous difference, driver skills also enter into the equation as traction at launch is still tricky and one does have to shift with some of the old school primitive machines. A violent 1->2 shift can break the tires loose at Willow as well because, although the traction is perhaps better than on most street starts, it still is not a prepped surface.
It is for this reason that I was very impressed with Jerome's consistent laps, but, do not tell him.

Jerome, I agree. Carlos really needs a driver to see any improvement in the massive performance of his monster Cobra. For the record, I am available on a limited basis.
Ten, hell... five years ago my car was a strong performer. Now a days, any roll off the lot Coyote with a mere tune and some tires can give it more than it can handle both from a stop, and on the road course. HP is not the answer. It is traction and platform limited as it sits. When I come across the likes of Tetge's 5.0 , or worse yet, a seriously built up Mach such as your own, all I can do is pray... and stand on it!

I can attest to the fact that Brakelate stands on it when he sees my 5.0. But, the rest of what he says is pure bunk as usual since his Cobra swiftly dispatches the 5.0 at any speed, and any place. Of course, Brakelate loves to spin yarns about how fast I am on bikes and how fast the 5.0 is, but, although telling these fabrications must amuse him, everyone knows them for the lies that they are. I even have plenty of video evidence and saved time slips to back up the truth.

So who's going next time??? I already have some 175's for the front and some 550's for the rear. Want to get down into the 9's.
For those whom weren't there i removed 14 degrees from 0-2000rpms, 8 degrees from 2000-4000 rpms and than back yo the normal 18 degrees. That was the only way i could launch my car on heat cycled M?T's. At the next event i am going to take a little less timing.

I must be losing my mind. Looking thru my pictures i came upon some time slips back in November. I have one that shows a 9.957 and a 10.208. I don't remember those times.

Those time slips look really legit. I had no idea that you had such computer skills.

Last run was against a new vette. The guy in the lanes asked me if I wanted the Camaro behind it, and I replied Vette, yummy!
I am car 7, he is car 84
