OK, no posts so
The left leg is getting better. A couple of days a week I work out on an elliptical trainer -- when
I started the left leg was good for about 15 seconds, now good for 3+ minutes.
Cant run.
Rode my mtn bicycle for 10 minutes -- my balance is pretty bad
No good news on the left arm/hand. Working out like a bitch, but while getting stronger am losing fine motor control.
I'm afraid to stop working out my brain MIGHT be getting better --

Re: What the heck are you guys (gals?) doing
Glad to hear you continue to make progress, James.
Same ol, same ol out here in the IE. We did a short Fri-Sun trip to SF last weekend. That was fun, and lots of walking. I think my watch logged about 10+ miles over a day and a half. Lots to see there, so we definitely plan on heading back. Did the Alcatraz tour, which was nice, and did lots of walking around Fisherman's Wharf. Caught up with an old buddy I haven't seen since we were about 16. FB may be evil, but it has it's uses for some good things as well.
I keep circling back to wanting a 2018 GT PP2 or a 2016+ GT350, but can't think of a way to make it sound like a sane purchase, even in my own head. My Explorer gets driven maybe once or twice a week, and usually not for much more than 10-20 miles. Introducing a new Mustang to the mix would either mean a relatively fast car sits in the garage, being pampered, or I start a new, expensive, hobby. Maturity can be boring sometimes, I guess.

Yeh man, I hate maturity When I agreed to give up motorcycles in order to spawn with Terri, it was the RIGHT thing, the mature thing (considering the number of wrecks I had had on bikes (including that head-on with a Buick... but I did miss some good times for 23 years...SonicVenum wrote:Glad to hear you continue to make progress, James.

Some of old geezers were yakking about our fun cars in the past, and even tho I still have the SPF, the most fun (and frustration) I had in my LIFE was with Piggie. Taking Piggie across country on a 3000 mile drive like I did with the SPF would have been insane. Get the PP2 -- you only live once

Re: What the heck are you guys (gals?) doing
My miles of serious bicycling from 1988 until we moved to Mexico in 2010 re a great memory. Pounding those miles let me get some distance from the challenges of building a company. We don't have a detailed daily log, but looking at my training schedule over the years, and the triathlons and century rides that we always used as 'conditioning tests', we think the total miles were between 100,000 and 115,000 miles. The bogey is that so many miles were put in while climbing -- many just grinding -- of course what goes up must come down... I don't ever remember a ride over 80 miles that I regretted (at least regretted 2 days later )SVTRonDogg wrote:Trying to get back ino the Mustang thing and cycling in between baby duty.

James, your work ethic is an inspiration. Meanwhile over the last few days it was rainy/cold so I stayed in the house reading instead of hitting the project on the lift.

Re: What the heck are you guys (gals?) doing
Addictive personalities search for 'safe' addictions. work. and plork. Play/work. I convinced myself I loved leaving Bell Canyon around 8am, following Topanga Cyn to PCH, then up to Kanan, climbing Kanan Road from PCH to whatever right turn I took, and sometimes rode on over into Simi. "loved' that too. Sometimes I rode until I knew that it would take hours to get home, so would call Terri, tell her my route home and then try to beat her to the designated meet spot. What a great day! After 8-9 hours in the saddle a calm feeling would cloak me. No energy to be a bad boy THAT night.xbacksideslider wrote:James, your work ethic is an inspiration. Re: What the heck are you guys (gals?) doing
I never had the physique for cycling but I did get into it for a few years. There was a Wednesday or Thursday Griffith Park summer evening practice ride on the flats that would loop from Travel Town to the Mulholland Fountain and back.
We'd ride Griffith Park hills too, from Travel Town, up Griffith Prk Drive, then right onto Mt Hollywood Drive (the "Backside") and on up to the summit, across and down the ridge of Mt Hollywood Dr, through the tunnel and up to the Observatory. Cup of coffee. Then we'd usually split up, friends down to Hollywood, me usually back the same way, up the Mt Hollywood ridge to the summit at Bee Rock, and down the Backside to Forest Lawn Drive.
When I worked for DOJ, I had to drive to Santa Barbara once or twice a month for a half day of hearings, so a few times I'd bring the Cannondale and ride up 154 to the summit and then right to Painted Cave and down again back to State St.

That sounds like you got into it. I'm still planning on getting some miles (kilometers here) in. I'll tune up the 1998 Davidson, ride in far right lane and have Terri ride behind me with the flashers on...
maybe. Terri would have to agree.
