VMP 2.3L TVS Supercharger
http://vmptuning.com/superchargers/cobratvs/ (you have to scroll down to get to the words.)
I am comfortable with this selection. Adam is comfortable, and thinks it solves some installation challenges.
Just for the hell of it, I gave the Kenne Bell website a complete read. I respect that they do THEIR thing, but their emphasis on size does not work for the SPF. I never would have believed that they would not only survive but thrive... Good for them.
This should be a fun project. I like the look of the Whipple better, but this toy will look just fine.

Done. Scheduled for late Jan, early Feb delivery. Supposed to have some improvements over the current version. That would be nice.
With the Cyber Monday (or whatever discount they used) it was less than $3200. I will resume the thread when it shows.

I found my bone stock Eaton M112 sitting in a box in the garage the other day. Anyone know of someone that might be interested? Low miles, all good. I think I have the stock plenum, throttle body and even airbox and all that stuff as well somewhere out there that could go with it.

I guess I forgot to tell Terri the details of the new VMP I ordered... The credit card charge showed up today. At least Terri was. I'm thinking that I should have mentioned the price.

Re: VMP 2.3L TVS Supercharger
The VMP is installed and Adam fired up the SPF Cobra a little while ago. I will post up a little vid later. We are cleaning up and getting ready to head for Pikes Peak, but the goal was to hear it run before I head back to Mexico Sunday. Right this minute he is tuning a little and their house is shaking pretty well. I think that he will be able to get a good tune and put some Colorado miles on it before I take it on the planned 2500-3000 mile trip later this summer.
We want to get a good safe tune and some numbers just to know what this upgrade did. I will post that dyno sheet when he gets it. Adam is a saint, even if he does have my genetics. We think that this does it, unless we break something.

That thing has got to be silly with such a short wheelbase, and so much power/torque.

1. yes. Fun silly. It has a tendency to try to go a little sideways under a hard pull from a stop, but I found that an instinctive correction keeps it straight. Usually. Once, before this change I jumped on it with Terri in the car and she got to experience a "drift-like" pull, and I corrected a tad too much and she screamed at me in a rather unpleasant way. Then I got "the speech"...SonicVenum wrote:That thing has got to be silly with such a short wheelbase, and so much power/torque.
2. In the absence of a confirmed safe tune, it did not get a real workout. I want to see if the entire package will really make 600 to the wheels. I have been told that the pipes that I have will not allow it, so that is one concern. Easily solved if that is the case. Adam and I are interested to see how much air intake we can flow, and have started sniffing at how to get more air in. We have used up most of the underhood space with stuff...
3. TONIGHT I will put up a dull little vid, just it running in the garage -- got into that stupid TT competition last night and was too tired to do it.

Two very short vids.

and

And a couple of pics. Adam has spent a ton of time cleaning everything up but there is just a lot going on, and not a lot of space. So we will see where the bottleneck is while trying to make at least 600 rwhp. We know the engine is very capable and with the turbos and a different exhaust already made 850, another time and another place and another car. Since then, blower replaced turbos (no room under the hood), new intake and exhaust cams (good for 70 additional rwhp with the Eaton), and back to the stock SPF exhaust pipes. And a new intake from VMP.
