Re: New Ford GT
Love it! It's like they mated a GT, a McLaren MP4-12C, and a Lamborghini Aventador. Bold move going with an EcoBoost V6 rather than going balls to the wall with some sort of V8. I'm sure 600+HP will get that thing scootin down the road just fine.

Re: New Ford GT
Looks like a fantastic vehicle.
I also liked the new Raptor they announced. As a previous owner of a 2010 SVT Raptor I bought new off the lot, I loved that truck and glad to see Ford continue it with the new body and tech.
The new Ford GT is freakin' awesome!!

Re: New Ford GT
It looks great, but, no V-8? I guess that Honda had a hand in the engine configuration? I have never heard a V-6 that sounded as good, or even as close to as good, as a high performance V-8. But, again, it doesn't matter since I am hardly the target audience of the car. I bet that they will all appreciate the three electric motors and the V-6.

I was glad to see that there was some stuff going on in the closed off areas of Ford. Interested to see the real-world performance numbers. Interested to see how it is priced.

Re: New Ford GT
The general consensus is MSRP of about $160K. But what will dealers charge as a mark up? Considering what they did with the last GT, it will be ridiculousjhwalker wrote:I was glad to see that there was some stuff going on in the closed off areas of Ford. Re: New Ford GT
The last time, I had just left WMC and had some jingle-jangle and tried to buy the one that Vista Ford on Ventura had and they were pretty impossible to talk to. My memory sez $50k over (might have been a little more), but it was the "we have a bunch of people who want this car, so we don't need or want to talk to you" attitude that sent me out the door. They were willing to take my name and number. I drove Piggie (bought there) over to look at it, and sure as hell in a couple of months they called a few times, as something had happened to those other buyers.03_SONIC_BLUR wrote:The general consensus is MSRP of about $160K. I still would have liked to have bought one. This new one is a little too "new" for me. Cool, but not a geezer-mobile.

Re: New Ford GT
I remember talking to you about this very situation while walking across the street from Superior to grab a bite from El Pollo Loco(?). If I remember correctly, they wanted $100k over MSRP when you went. It was ridiculous. It's hard to say whether or not this will have more appeal than the last. The '04-06 GT looked so much like the original GT-40 that it beckoned those that remember the Ferrari-spanking 60's. This new GT is enough of a departure that you don't immediately get pulled back in time. On looks and the pedigree of the previous model alone, I'd buy this over any other supercar, if I had the cash.jhwalker wrote:The last time, I had just left WMC and had some jingle-jangle and tried to buy the one that Vista Ford on Ventura had and they were pretty impossible to talk to. Yeh, I am probably mentally blocking what I found to be an absurd situation.SonicVenum wrote:I remember talking to you about this very situation while walking across the street from Superior to grab a bite from El Pollo Loco(?).
