Telstars, Bigs & Littles, w/ tires

Postby SonicVenum » Thu Aug 15, 2013 8:10 pm

I thought I'd give you local blokes a crack at these before I polish them up and put them up for sale elsewhere at a higher price.

I've got a full set of 4 Centerline Telstar wheels. The fronts are 15 x 4 and wrapped with 165 tires with plenty of tread left. The rears are 15 x 8 and wrapped with Mickey Thompson DRs in 275/50-15. The MTs have about 500 miles and one burnout on them. The car sat for a while, so the tires show tiny cracks on the tread, but they're still plenty sticky. One of the shoulders shows some rubbing thanks to my worn out, 20-year-old rear springs. I'm not sure what the backspacing is at the moment, but I know I had to have the fenders rolled on my Notch to make 275s fit without rubbing. I believe SN-95 and up won't have that issue because the axles are shorter. I will not be including lug nuts, but the center caps are included. The package also includes a pair of Nitto DRs in 275/50-15. These have less than 500 miles on them, but the shoulders show some scrapes from rubbing before I had the fenders rolled.

The whole package can be had for $600 by any of you on this forum. I'll even deliver them, if you're close enough, or meet you part way if you're not.

I polished them up a bit. They'll still need more elbow grease to be perfect, but I'm not asking a "perfect" price for them. I also put them up a couple other places for significantly more, but the price I posted here still stands for LASG members only.

Refresh my memory. What did it take to get those to fit up front over the big brakes on a Terminator?

I never had these mounted on the Termi, but a 1" spacer should do it. I ran longer studs and a solid aluminum spacer, but the easier way would be to use a bolt-on spacer.

Hmmm. Yeah, I remember RaxerX had a nice set on his Mach1 and back in the day it took some doing to get them on, but I had forgotten what all was involved.

I've already modded the rear to just be able to clear 15's out back.

Also, those can use the stock style lug nuts, correct? The last Weld's I got from Machy had that Steel insert sandwiched in the Aluminum, requiring those specific lug nuts that were a royal pain in the ass and about got me kicked out of LACR every time I went.

There might be stuff you could do to make the front clear with a smaller spacer, but I didn't bother. If you already did the rears, you might be able to make it work.

Yes, the lugs are stock style, which is why I kept them.

It is too bad that the front skinnies bounced out of your truck and were destroyed and lost somewhere on the LA freeways. I bet the buyer will be disappointed.....

Too bad. I bet those rears would bolt right up on the Coyote with the standard brake kit. Probably be worth almost a tenth with the skinnies and all on that new 5.0 and look pretty damn good at the same time as well.

I guess now we will never know.
