'93 Ford Mustang Coupe, orig 5.0L/5-speed... it's time

Well, it's finally time for the Notch to move on to greener pastures. I already have it's replacement, an '03 Explorer, and it's time for it to go to a home where it will be driven more than a couple hundred miles per year.

1993 Ford Mustang LX coupe, 5.0L engine, 285 WHP, less than 103,000 original miles, Reef Blue (original paint), original T-5 5-speed transmission, flip up sunroof (no leaks), and clean interior. The car made 286 WHP/292 WTQ on 91 octane pump gas. This car is a real sleeper. The only non-stock items on the exterior are the wheels. Mod list includes:

Engine:
• Stock short block
• AFR 185 heads (Part # 1420)
• FelPro 1011-1 head gaskets
• ARP head bolts
• Holley Systemax II intake
• Custom 4" CAI with 12" K&N filter
• Ford Racing 42 lb. injectors

Electronics:
• MSD BTM ignition box
• MSD Blaster 2 coil
• Accel Extreme 9000C ceramic-boot plug wires
• Autolite 25 spark plugs (gapped at .035")
• 90mm Ford MAF
• Diablo ChipMaster Revolution chip tuned by Steve @ Powertrain Dynamics
• Pioneer stereo head unit with CD player and front auxiliary input and Infinity speakers w/ 1000-watt amp
• Battery relocated to trunk using aluminum Taylor battery box, 2/0 welding cable for power and 1/0 welding cable for grounds
• Moroso shut-off switch (hidden behind rear license plate)
• 200-amp 6G alternator
• Keyless entry w/ trunk release & alarm siren wired to car horn

Chassis/Suspension:
• D&D tubular k-member and A-arms
• Tokico Drag Adjustable struts
• 4-bolt caster/camber plates (Steeda or UPR, can't remember)
• Wolfe Racecraft rear upper & lower control arms with spherical bearings, and anti-roll bar
• Koni STR.T shocks
• Boxed subframe connectors
• Welded torque boxes and axle tubes

Drivetrain:
• King Cobra clutch kit, less than 2,000 miles
• UPR triple-hook clutch quadrant and firewall adjuster
• Hurst shifter
• Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft
• Built 8.8 rear axle with OEM Ford 3.31 gears, Ford Traction-loc differential with extra clutch packs, and welded axle tubes
• Ford Racing diff cover
• 5-lug conversion (front discs, rear drums)
• OEM 1996 Cobra wheels (17"x 8") w/ Kumho Ecsta ASX tires (245-45/17R, less than 500 miles on them)

Other:
• Ford Racing shorty headers
• Dynomax mufflers with turndowns
• Off-road h-pipe
• Autometer Z-series boost/vac & fuel pressure gauges in Autometer dual-pod A-pillar
• Manual brakes conversion (Strange master cylinder, Racecraft adapter plate, Maximum Motorsports adjustable brake pedal)
• Mark 8 electric fan wired with 75-amp relay and 8 awg wire
• Thermal fan control (thread into t-stat housing) with A/C switch
• Walbro 255-lph HP in-tank fuel pump

Though it's not perfect, you will have a tough time finding a Notch this clean, and the 286HP/292TQ pushing less than 3000lbs makes this car fun to drive. The a/c and heater are intact, but the a/c compressor started squealing a few months ago, and I stopped using it, so the a/c needs repair. The heater still works great. I don't have the stock suspension any more, but I still have all the stock engine stuff, smog equipment, and various spare parts, which will all go with the car.

Negatives:
The 22-year-old paint has started showing signs of clearcoat problems (though it still looks great from 10 feet away), and it has a few dings. The right tail light lens cover has a hole in it, but I have a new pair on the way. They should be here next week, and I'll get them on the car ASAP. Also, there is a creak coming from the driver's side rear suspension. Hopefully, I'll be able to figure it out soon, but I haven't so far.

I'm asking $6,950 OBO, cash only, no trades. I'm in Southern California. I will ship the car under the following conditions: 1. No shipment until payment is made in full, and cleared (NO PAYPAL), and 2. Buyer pays all shipping costs.

I can be reached at revprop14 at gmail dot com.

Turns out the market for these cars is pretty strong. I've received lots of interest already. A part of me will be sad to see it go.

I guess my cars really like the middle part of the southern states. The Cobra went to Oklahoma, and my Notch will be on its way to Texas as soon as the certified check clears.

It looked great in the pics. Congrats! Damn, did you get what you wanted?

I remember you laying out your master plan somewhere but I couldn't find it...

Yup, I got full asking price in less than a day. The buyer actually contacted me within a few hours of me posting it. I had several other very interested parties. One from the bay area, one from NM, and a couple local guys. I probably could've gotten more out of it, but I didn't really want the hassle.

We already have our new-to-us 03 Explorer as a replacement vehicle. Now I just have to keep Rach's 250k-mile Monte Carlo reliable for long enough to get her into a 4-door with less than 100k on the clock. Down the road a used Coyote Mustang awaits.

It's going to a great home. The guy is a doctor in Texas, and sounds like a really nice guy. He has two other "toys" that will be its stable-mates, a '60 Vette, and an older Willie's Jeep looking thing. This guy has the garage I wish I had, a 20'x40' shed out back.
