I crash

As tedge pointed out, I crashed hard:

I have been in hospital since 8/28 following a bad crash up on 33 while
riding my 1970 Triumph. I hit a small rock and was sent into a much larger
obstacle on the side of the road. I was sent into a hillside after being
thrown off, hit it, and rolled down into the road. Chris Moore and Dr Jim
Gay were behind me, as well as Gregg and Tristin (new guy). Chris saw
the whole thing, and was pretty sure I died. I didn't. Dr Gay made sure
I did not move and kept me down, Chris made sure I wasn't runt over,
and Gregg went to cell reception and call a meat wagon, who picked
me up and got me to VCMC trauma, who found 6 broken ribs, a broken
back (T4), a broken scapula, an injured neck, and a mile of pavement
rash.

So, this has ended my motorcycle riding days. I have done everything I ever wanted to do on a motorcycle, so I got years and years of memories to look back on.

Lucky indeed...although I probably would have been paying more attention to what was in front of me as opposed to what was behind me if I had been alone. Some people remove their mirrors from their rides....

Still in recovery... long haul..
