So everything is working pretty with the security systems except for the infrared barriers and the 'small animal' calibrations. The heavy winds move the tall poles just enough to make it appear that beams are being broken. And the local foxes with their bushy tails confuse the 'ignore small animals' code. We may need guy wires to stabilize the poles.

da beat goes on... :-D

Well, Mexico is a little weird right now. Violence is up, and more brazen. Truck hi-jackings are up.
It used to be that we would not travel at night out of town, but the goons are attacking cars in mid-day.
I'm getting tired of walking around armed at the casa.
Actually looking forward to the USA trip.

Funny how things seem to stay the same in Mexico over the years, as 70 years ago, there was talk of lawlessness across the border, and there still is. But, open highway robbery is still wild west stuff from my vantage point, and being strapped at home for safety is a bit disconcerting as well. Of course, it may not be as bad as the press, and now, to a greater extent than before, an expatriated American, seem to be saying. But, if you could post now and then, so that we know that things are OK, it would be nice.

It is not good to know too much, I conclude. We drive past a cute little fraccionamiento that I thought was placid, and a friend told me he just completed a security study there. They have had 30 break-ins this year.
