For those of us who grew up in So Cal, and who spent time in Mexico back in the day , it still sounds as if all the old commonly held concerns are still there, and, in fact, it may be more violent than in the past. So, the American State Dept., and, Pres Trump, may be correct about travel dangers and a large criminal element that we need to keep out of the US. I guess walls, and proficient 24'7 private security, with AK47's, and an armored vehicle, would make things a bit more secure, or, to put things in perspective, one needs about the same protection that they would need if they went to Wal*Mart in my hood at 9:30 at night.

Pretty scary.
