Some good came from the problem. Terri and I are closer. After 38-39 years together, an element of 'ho hum' creeps in. No more. Every day is an adventure. 
My three boys don't take 'dear old dad' quite as much for granted. 
1 year later --
left wrist is shot -- simply not usable. I may try surgery. Not sure.
left arm is worthless - ditto
left leg is pretty worthless, but I can walk. (like a dork)
Some days I can speak clearly, some days not.
Have a lot of 'who knows why' pain. Not 'I wish to die' pain, just hurting a lot. meow

Have not ridden a motorcycle for more than 1 year. It is just not practical yet. Really miss it.
I continue to average 2-3 hours a day of rehab. (boring...)
My writing has barely improved. it is horrible.

I have a family member that had a stroke at about the same age you did, but about 15 years ago, and she has never come anywhere near the functionality you have a achieved. I know your personality makes you want to be further along than you are, but you're doing great. Here's to a great 2017!
