LA Clippers

Post by Tetge »

I forgot to put a Clippers thread up here. As some know, I have been a Clipper fan for many, many, years, and, even before the Clippers moved to LA, I was not a Laker fan. Every year I used to start a thread that it was going to be the Clipper's year. And, every year it never happened, and those on the Laker bandwagon laughed as usual. So, here is a tardy thread to say that although the Clippers may not have totally arrived as far as winning a championship, this has been a great year, historic even, for a long time Clipper fan. As for the Lakers? At this point they are of interest only because the battle for 8th place between the Lakers and Utah is the only real action left at the end of the NBA regular season. I'd like to say, Go Utah, but, as a Clipper fan, I have to pull for the Lakers as they would be easier for the Clippers to knock out in the playoffs, should they meet.

Now, that is really disloyal to be a fan of anything from NY. But, then again, I was born in LA, so, as a native, my loyalty has never been in question. Still, those people from NY talk funny and always over dress.

Both the Clippers and the Lakers managed to win tonight. The Clippers were missing shots but they somehow pulled it out. The Lakers also barely won, and, more importantly for them, Kobe got hurt three times and on the last time he was crawling across the court and, after making a couple of clutch free throws his night was over. One wonders if he will be back as it would seem impossible, but, even though I have never liked his play, I have to admit that he gave it all up to try to get to the play offs. But, his tank appears to be empty and the Lakers are done. The Clippers are relatively healthy and they have a lot of talent so they could win everything, but, they don't seem smart enough to do that quite yet.

The Clippers managed to win their first playoff game this year. They had me worried for almost the entire game and I had to drink to calm down. But, somehow, they hung in. Success is very difficult to believe in for long time Clipper fans.

The Clippers somehow won game two with a 0.1 second left on the clock game winning shot by Chris Paul. It was really close and who knows what will happen now when they go on the road?

Tetge, your playing with yourself.

In a good way. . . . .

Changing the subject to something truly interesting, did you see that Suzuki is offering 5 yrs financing at 0% interest and even cash back ?

I'm thinkin a DRZsm, with two sets of wheels, at maybe $100/mo?

I'd really like to see you on a DR-Z SM. That would level the playing field considerably. But, you might end up an DR-Z SM fan boy as it is quite the bike.

As disgusting as it is, the Clips are one of the more entertaining teams right now. They are mean, have too many guards, have a psychotic bench -- and you never have a clue what the team might do. It being two hours later here, I turned off the game and hit the sack when they went up 12.
