Just a little non-constructive rant about my Lakers.
Tired of the insanity of the past couple of years with the two terrible coaches (the jury is out on Scott), with D'Antoni's dedication to removing Pau Gasol from the team -- and Gasol in a welcoming environment with Chicago is the NBA leader in double-doubles this year, and last night had 26 pts and 16 rebounds...
The terrible conclusion / decision that the fans would be happy to watch the team lose with Kobe, one of the biggest ball-hogs in history (Carmelo Anthony probably has the BIGGEST locked down), who is at the end of his career and now is mercifully injured so they can find out if there is any talent on the team, which resulted in the two massive years of salary to him which meant no other good player would join them. Two years which were going to be pretty much wasted in any case. I don't know, prior to his most recent injury, whether they would win more with him playing or sitting, but it hardly mattered. A terrible product goes onto the floor each game.
Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? I was watching this team in person in 1968 with Wilt, Jerry, Elgin -- and we had good season tickets from '79 thru '89 for the showtime years. Hard to believe what I see on the floor now.

Re: Lakers
You forgot acquiring Steve Nash. Even a long time Laker hater such as I am, feels some pity for the Laker faithful at this point. But, perhaps there is something in the air in LA, since the Clippers, thus far, do not seem to be the team that I hoped that they would finally become. And, we shall not even discuss the Rams.

I just omitted. The prick (formerly a favorite of mine, sort of anyway) will not even attend a practice or a game.Tetge wrote:You forgot acquiring Steve Nash.
