Ugly Basketball Final Round
I have seen some ugly basketball in the battle for the championship. In fact, it is a wonder that the Cavs have won two games as none of the Cavs players seem able to score. But, if had first pick in a pickup game, I have decided that I would take Lebron even though he was not the most valuable player this year. The person choosing second can have Curry, if they so wish. I have also decided that the Cavs have a far better coach, based upon their continued success in the face of all the injuries to key players that they have suffered. The Cavs also seem able to make the game ugly enough to throw the Warriors off their game.
Of course the series is not over, but, the announcers said that the team that wins game 3 wins the championship 86% of the time, and, the announcers know everything.

I tuned into the game for about a minute, with about 4 mins left in the game, just in time to see a nice alley-oop to LeBron. That was enough for me, and I continued on my channel surfing.

I thought that you could appreciate a good prize fight. They were taking players to the local hospital after the game.

I do like a good fight, but I haven't been overly interested in the major 3 (or 4, if you want to count hockey) sports for while now. I mostly watch MMA, F1, and MotoGP. I'll kind of get the jist of what's going on through social media, sports reports during commercials, and tickers at the bottom of something else I'm watching, but I don't really sit down and watch whole games. The Superbowl is the only thing I'll still watch.

It got even uglier for game 4. I thought that pros were supposed to be able to shoot the basketball? Apparently this is not required of the Cavs.

Now that it will be either a 6 or 7 game series, I believe that the NBA is satisfied. There are multiple fouls PER PLAYER on every play. Last night LeBron was pretty passive, but in game 3, if someone was in his way he just pushed him out of his way. No problem, no foul. I pick on LeBron because as we are always reminded -- he IS the best player in the world, and truly is a man among men. He is a freak like Wilt was a freak -- all in a good way.
Anyway, I enjoy it with the plots and sub-plots, and the who is going to perform and not perform. I would not bet a dollar on who is going to win the series.

I figure that the Warrior have the edge. They have home court advantage and a deeper, apparently much fresher, bench. And, if their many shooters are on, they can easily out score the Cavs. And, the Warriors are young and can run all day. Last game was physical but the Cavs looked worn out to me, which made them struggle to stay with the small Warriors lineup, so Curry was able to get looks, while the Cavs were unable to make shots that generally would be considered good shots. It is said that tired players miss shots and free throws and perhaps that explains the Cav's shooting?
I suppose it might end up being entertaining to see how it plays out, but, in truth I am sort of disappointed as I was pulling for the Cavs, since at least some of the Warriors appear arrogant, and it would have been nice to see a depleted older team school them. But, the odds now have shifted back in favor of the Warriors. And, in spite of the game needing to be played, the odds still remain a good indicator of the outcome.
But, I still have difficulties getting into the way that pro basketball is being played and also is being called by the refs.

Re: Ugly Basketball Final Round
I only saw the 4th Q tonight, but it was fun to watch both Curry and LeBron do their things.
There is no way to referee LeBron's game. As I said before, if he were anyone else, he would foul out in the first 5 minutes of every game that he gives a crap about... I hope GS wraps it up, and then there is some league discussion what to do about what LeBron does to get to the rim. My hats off to the guys who have to try to guard him when he takes it to the hoop.

It was a poorly called game as the refs missed a few documented calls. But, there is so much contact, that it really gets hard to say who is fouling who. And, the Cavs, including Lebron still appear tired and they are missing shots that they should make. Meanwhile, the Warriors have a deep bench and Curry made some really amazing three point shots. I'd say it is over, but, anything can happen.

Re: Ugly Basketball Final Round
Having nothing important to do tonight, I watched a show called NBA Game Film, or something like that. They reviewed last night's game. The 3-4-5 guys commenting (ex-ref, ex-coaches, etc) never said a negative WORD about the LeBron game MO. Interesting. That game was so much closer than the score. Maybe 2 different outcomes on plays with 3 minutes to go and Cleveland would have won that game.
