Btw, sorry if my post above sounds aggressive, but we just finished watching it. I'll be over it in a little while.

The frigging movie just got a 'Best Picture" at one of the never-ending award events. Go see it, por favor, and report back. 8-)
I thought it was a big mushball -- I was actually seeking to have someone (or sometwo) enlighten me -- -- for real.
As I age (post-stroke) I wonder more about my analysis, some folks are saying this is 'best picture' stuff. I am interested, and reading the reviews is not helpful. (clearly I have too little to do  )

Oh ok... so you didn't like it either? Ok, you're not wrong. They are. It sucked. Pretty shots and B&W do not a good film make.

*** SPOILERS BELOW****

Rach, who is as empathetic as they come, wasn't made to care enough about Cleo to cry when the baby dies. That's pathetic. They just built no story. And WHY did we need to see that dude's dong flopping around? WHY??? It made no damn sense. Tidy whities would have still gotten the point across.

There Will Be Blood was very well shot, and superbly acted, but the story was more well suited to be on an episode of Drunk History. All that great acting and cinematography was wasted on a bland story where no much happens, and there was very little blood.

Another film that I have disagreed with some people on is No Country for Old Men. I loved it. Another movie buff friend of mine hates it. I don't know how he could hate it. That same friend hates Drive. Again, I love it.

10 Academy award nominations for this bore-fest. Tied for the most this year with The Favourite. BS.

I’m just happy we aren’t discussing the finer points of Gigli or Zardoz. 😂

Surely ( :violin: Shirley?) Terri and I are not the only folks to see Roma. Did anyone else see it? Anyone see a 'best movie' contender?
We think that living here for so long may have caused bias...
Hi James and everyone,

I was on a flight yesterday and was reading the in flight magazine. Well, wouldn't you know there was an article on Roma.

I thought of this thread and snapped a pic for later and here we go.

The attachment will autorotate if you view it. :)

Enjoy
