Nov 5 Hansen Dam

Post by Tetge »

I was going to post in the Norton section, but, there is no Norton section. Seems that Velocette and Guzzi made it, but, not Norton. In anyu case, it is not going to be warm according to the forecast on the 5th, but, no rain is forecast. Wonder who, if anyone, will make it. It also seems that they are saying that they have shortened the ride, and that they are fixing to have as BBQ, which might reflect a reaction to the lousy restaurants that they sometimes picked in the past, or, was that the BSA crew?

"75 mile ride" is that shorter than before? Really?

BBQ? Using the tables in the park?

No matter, I enjoy the scene, bikes people weather; my wife always enjoys herself, meeting the guys I talk about.

Here's a cool promo -

Walker will enjoy 250 Diana pics.
Owner said he had $10K in it.[attachment=0]Norton Owners Club 11-5-2017

Big brake on my Commando.

Little T is open, so loop was LT to Soledad to Mex Restaurant back a block and up Aliso, then up and over AF, and down Big T, back to Dam where they had BBQ.

Light rain night before. Weather cleared nicely. Missed Tetge and Brakelate but Kelly's new build, a 5 speed T140 750 Bonneville pissed me off as he had motor on me, just barely, I blame it on that 5 speed.

My brother could not make it due to other activities, and the weather was not perfect, and, there was no one to ride with, so the KTM sat. I also thought that Little T was closed, and that might have tipped the scale toward riding, as Little T is a nice stretch of road. I never get too excited about the Hansen Dam meets, as generally, the pace is too slow in the fun parts, or, way beyond my scope, and I end up cruising solo in no man's land, where I try not to run over the parade crew, and I try to get out of the way of the fast guys. It almost gets too intense to be fun, as the slow guys are all flipping you off for being a maniac on what is supposed to be a very safe and sane cruise, and the fast guys are all flipping you off for obstructing them and no doubt preventing them from hitting some corner at 2X your obstructive pace.

Fix your computer's clock. It's an hour ahead.

Or . . . . .. You are a time traveler an hour ahead of me. If so, we should partner up and play the stock market.

Good description of the parade.

Wet in the early am, dried out. Roads were clean. Blue bird skies. Beer and chile rellenos at La Cabana.
Talked to Greg and Bob from the VC so hoped to see Tim.
