Re: 2016? GT350 Numbers Reported
I too lust for the new GT350, but, I also lack the funds. I did some calculating, and if I got top dollar for my GT, and if I could get a new GT350 for $60K out the door, I would have to pay at least $800 a month for it with 60 month financing and a good interest rate. This estimate takes into account taxes and license and insurance, but, not the other costs such as the replacement of very expensive tires at low mileage since they no doubt will wear out quickly. So, the actual cost, would be a substantial amount toward a house payment, and, unlike a car loan, house payments are tax deductible.
In short, once again, the SVT Cobra was my one and only special car, and its barely affordable pricing for the common working man, was just one more example of what a great car it was. But, I was too poor to even keep my Cobra when my shot hip prevented me from using its clutch anymore. I still mourn its departure, as it was the most fun, by far, to drive on an every drive basis, of any vehicle that I have ever owned. and, I can not even remember all the vehicles that I have owned.

I want one. I can't afford one. Luckily, I managed to hang on to my Cobra. While it would be neat to be exempt from the smog test for the next 6 years, I can't justify buying one for that reason alone. I guess I am no longer one of the cool kidz

Re: 2016? GT350 Numbers Reported
I was on the phone with a Ford engineer regarding something else the other day, and just by chance he was out road testing a GT350. The car sounded nuts even across two cell phones. Lots of hype on this car, but everyone says it will deliver.
Allegedly they are making them for 5 years. I'm currently house hunting and the wife will need a new car first. My plan was to upgrade my Focus ST to the RS and hang on to the other Mustangs. Most likely I will be commuting again so it doesn't make sense to go from the Focus to a third Mustang. If they make them for 5 years maaaaybe I can get ahold of one down the line.

I am happy that one would just be stupid down here. That engine is crazy. I read a long article about it, and started lusting...

......British mag Evo has published a report claiming that Ford’s new Shelby GT350R has lapped the Nürburgring in 7:32.19, more than five seconds faster than Chevy’s monstrous Z/28, which did the deed in 7:37.47.......
