So, when you can go big, why not go REALLY big?
A buddy of mine picked up this surplus truck cheap and though enjoying tinkering on it, was a bit intimidated to drive it and actually put some fuel through it. Well, why not use it as intended and see what 6-Wheel Drive and some big Super-Singles would could get us into... and hopefully, with a little airing-down get us back out of.
Believe it or not, it only has 11k miles and change on it, and is absolutely cherry, though a bit sun baked on the interior due to the previous soft top being beat and letting the weather in the cab. But, it has excellent paint, body and near new tires.
I get to take it out and play with it just to keep the batteries charged, the fluids flowing and the tires round whenever I want. I am just so very afraid of getting it stuck out in the sticks somewhere when I finally do get in over my head, and won't be able to figure out how to get it out! So, I cautiously tip toe around... as much as you can in a big, loud and proud 5-ton troop truck~! And stay close to where if I start to get into something, I might have at least a slight chance of recovering it with the Power Wagon and it's 12k lbs winch.
Until then, it's a real hoot! The Ultimate Big Boy Tonka Toy!
