Well I sold my cherry 2009 997TT Cabro back in May. Great car, just wasn't me. I missed my 2012 WK2 Summit (Grand Cherokee) and ended up picking up a 2016 Diesel Summit to keep my JK and Prius company. That vehicle is EXCELLENT.
So, the sports car bug is biting me again and I want something I can shift. Last car I had with a standard gear was my 2010 GT500. The Porsche was a Tiptronic and while fun, uninspiring.
I've read that the LT5 DOHC engine is a work of art and bulletproof. There are many in the ZR1 registry with 100,000+ miles.
The car is IMHO the bargain of the century for a used "exotic" domestic sports car.
I've found a few examples with 10,000 or less miles.
I've always bought "different" cars and this one has been on my bucket list since I was a lot younger. The market for the C4 ZR-1 has never appreciated considering there are around 6900 of them made thru the period of time produced.
1995 I believe had 448 examples.
Thoughts?

They were very expensive when new so that may have hurt their popularity in the long run. Agreed, great value, and it's an interesting engine - Lotus 32 valve DOHC Chevy, assembled (casting too?) by Mercury Marine, will always be a talking point. I wanted one back then, so I like your idea.

Having smoked thru a ton of money over the years 'scratching itches', I'll be a devil's advocate. (my gift to a good guy)
What's driving the urge? http://www.caranddriver.com/features/ch ... vette-zr-1 is an interesting write-up.
Several times I found myself on day 2 trying to figure out how to get my money back that I had forked over happily on day 1.
I'll shut up and turn it back to you.
