What car should i get? audi r8? 911? or jag xkr?

It's a matter of personal opinion, obviously, but to me, anybody in the position to buy a Porsche 911 and then buys something else needs his head examined. It's not in the position it's in for nothing. The Audi is expensive and to me, really ugly, although it's getting good write-ups. The Jag might tempt me though, but it'll certainly suffer worse depreciation than the Porsche, and possibly even more than the Audi too, once the novelty wears off.

If you get a 911, you must buy the Turbo, if not you will be wasting your money. For the price of a non turbo 911, you can get a lot more performance.
The R8 is really nice, but just too inpractical for me.
The XKR would be at the bottom of my list. Jaguar is very unreliable. THey are known for their luxury, and for their failures, that is about it.
SO out of these 3 specific choices, I would get the R8, but if the 911 was Turbo, I'd get that instead.

911 is around every where and been around for years
jaguar are owned by ford (so just a glorified mondeo!)
The R8 looks the business and there are not many around!
So i would say the R8 a few years ago i would have said the 911. Personally i wounldn't get either i would have a Lotus Exige if i was looking for a car to show off in.

audi will be the best, have you thought of the M5 or M6 they are very good cars. i dont like the 911 it never took my fancy and jags are just getting a bit dated, not keeping with it mainly because of there debt problems but right now it is not the time to buy a jag. Also don't you know that there is like a gaint waiting list for one?or can you get passed that??? Or you could get a used db9, yeah never though of that did you? I would go for the DB9, best choice

Are you bothered about your residual value ? (the money you will be left with ?) If so, the only car to go for is the Porsche. What is an old XJS worth....peanuts,as will be the XKR in a few years. The Audi R8, I doubt you can even get one. Apparently, something like 96% of all 911s are still alive and kicking. I had this dilemma 5 years ago and foolishly bought a Merc 230SLK, I did 2000 miles in the year and blew nearly Â£4000.I bought the Merc as I figured," Go for the newer car" I just wished to this day I had got the 911.
