I'm in the very fortunate position to be able to afford one of these beauties but which. i love the R8 but its so expensive i want one but my bank manager wants me to buy the 911 - the cheapest. i thought i could go in the middle and get the XKR as it is a very classy car. i would appreciate other opinions as a mate recently described the 911 as "a tossers car" i disagree but am still unsure what to buy?

Who cares, a car is a car? You cant use any of them to their capabilities so why bother buying any of them. you would be wasting your money buying any of them.

the R8 is a bit of a showpiece and i agree that it looks and sounds lovely! The 911 series are ok, so many variations on a theme- I drove a Carrera the other day, sure it was fast and responsive but i thought the whole car felt quite plasticy (i make up lots of words btw hehe).
Of the XK's i've only ever driven the XK8 which is a trumped up Mondeo but by jimminy what a car! Very very fast, classy exterior, classy interior and a sense of elegance, almost brutish grace as you eat up the road infront of you.
Personally, i'd go Jag.
