That just gave me wood.

:?

Goddamn. 700 hp NASCAR motor stuffed into a 240 SX?

Funny, his squeaky brakes as he came around the outside reminded me of the fun days with Carlos. His car sounds the same on the brakes as he has race pads.

That was pretty slick though.

I gotta get out there and do a weekend soon. I keep getting notices of ExtremeSpeed Events. I would love to zoom out there in the Cobra, so a day up at Willow for old times sake, then hit the social scene and do ElPescador for lunch the next day. Or something to that effect. I am sorely overdue for melting some tires.

:cry:

Upon further review, it has that deep, raspy V-8 sound, but also has a nasty wastegate whoosh and flutter. So no telling what is stuffed in there.

This one is good too. A lot of HTM and a little of The Streets. Boy, no wonder the "grip" drivers and racers get pissed at the drift crowd. They sure can trash a track!!! All those off track excursions, you'd sure need a good raking of the shoulders and about ten passes with a HD Sweeper rig on the racing line to clean up that mess.

HEY! Why didn't we ever try that "GoPro on a Pole" trick as you see at 5:25??? RonDoggies, are you up for that?? I am sure Tetge would do it! :lol:

Seriously, I have been watching some things and drooling over a Drone Quad Copter camera rig! I may have to just get the latest greatest version of the GoPro to up my game when or if I ever get active again. I could sure use it out here just catching scenery shots. But taking it to watch some Open Track / Drift / Supermoto stuff and doing flyovers would be awesome.

Anyway, same guy in here as well;

Most interesting -- nicely filmed. I do wonder how long it takes to clean up. Fun to watch, there was some serious horsepower at play.

Switching topics a bit, I have always hated the drifting "competitions" with their subjective judging. There are so many ways to actually quantify the drift performances instead treating like motorized ice skating. Too often the better-know person is judged to be the winner when the unknown person had a better run.
From FormulaD rules,
"III. STYLEStyle is probably the most subjective part of the drivers' runs. Style is just what it sounds like: The drivers' overall ability to take the specific judging criteria and display it is the most personal and individual way. That is the essence of style. Aggressive flicks, closeness to walls, extreme angle, degree of difficulty, fluidity and extreme proximity to the lead vehicle (in case of head-to-head competitions) would be examples of how personal driving style can be showcased.
Judges may also use logged drivers speed as a reference or assistance in judging, but speed of drivers is typically used for entertainment purposes, such as those purposes served through TV, live and live stream."

I like events where someone crosses the finish line first...

It's fun to watch at the 'Pro' level because in the last 10 years they have gone from small displacement turbo imports to V8 swaps and American Muscle to go balls out.

I enjoy the events and wish I had that kind of car control. I pee my pants just wagging the tail on the streets. :shock:
