Re: Clippers!
We got our season tickets 79-80, and gave them up right after we moved into Bell Canyon and experienced that drive to the Forum from Ventura county, where it took the first 15 minutes to get to the 134 fry and then the fun began... I tell you, that statue is NOT Magic. A blind man carved it.
The Clips are doing him a favor by covering it up.
More seriously -- it seems kind of like the Florida / Florida State (my alma mater) stunts. All the Lakers need to do is kick the Clipper ass and all of that crap will stop.

Re: Clippers!
Another romp last night for the Clips.
Our Laker $24 million man (this season and next) had an interesting night.
2 for 12 shooting (16+%) , a little lower than usual.
What may be the first time ever for Kobe, more assists than points. That was the good news, the bad being that he only had 4 points...
At least he was not screaming at his teammates for not being allowed to take (and miss) the last shot of the game.
I keep thinking that he and the team will come up with a way for him to retire with dignity... It is really hard to watch the Lakers. After being a Laker fan since the Jerry West days, it is a

Re: Clippers!
Although I generally am not interested in watching blow out games, I watched every minute of last night's game since I have long been both a Kobe, and a Laker, hater. Some of the vintage Laker teams were great basketball teams, so, I watched them due to that fact, just as I watched a ton of UCLA when John Wooden was there. Even haters can appreciate vast skill. But, last night was good from a Clipper fan point of view, although, as usual, the Clippers lack of an effective bench was once again revealed, so it was lucky that the first team ran up a 40+ point lead before they all sat. It is discouraging to see that the Clipper bench has not caught fire at all thus far, since when the real season starts the Clippers will go no where without a deeper team.
But, pounding the Lakers into the dirt was good.

Re: Clippers!
Anybody watching Clips : Spurs?
First, it is BS that these two teams have to play each other round 1.
Second, it is BS that these two teams have to play each other round 1.
Good game so far... LAC 43 SA 37
Third, Duncan is a very dirty player.

Re: Clippers!
A beast who can't hit free throws, which is why he is not a complete monster. But, I am worried since the Clippers have zero bench and San Antonio is deep. It seems that the same pattern happens over and over again. Fast start by the Clippers starters and then in comes the bench and it only takes a few minutes to lose any lead that the starters built up. This time it only took about 1.5 minutes to lose 10 points of a 12 point lead. And then, it is usually nip and tuck the rest of the way. And, of course, hack a Jordan will happen and it is no fun to watch, but, I personally think that they should not change the rules since making free throws is part of the skills required of players and it also is part of the game to exploit any weakness of opposing teams, including poor free throw shooting. The solution is to get better free throwers and then the blatant hacking will not be an effective strategy.jhwalker wrote:Fourth. Deandre Jordan is a beast.
But, I completely agree that it is a shame that the Clippers have to play San Antonio in the first round as they should have been seeded on the same side of the ladder. The Warriors are still out there in the West, and they definitely will not be an easy out for anyone and one of the teams that might have given them a good fight will be eliminated in the first round.
Now, back to strong Margaritas to quell my nerves as being a Clipper fan has never been easy, and, in fact, it has not gotten any easier as the Clippers actually became a team to be somewhat reckoned with.

I will find out how it ends tomorrow morning. I have to be up at 6:30am and it is 11:15 pm and geezers need their sleep. I don't like the way the 2nd half is starting.

Re: Clippers!
I think that part of the issue is Griffin (en?) is no longer willing to do what it takes to dunk. Crap, as I type the announcers are saying the same thing, Hell, tonight he is deferring to Reddick's 3 point shot.Tetge wrote:A beast who can't hit free throws, which is why he is not a complete monster.
